The hotel is older but updated, and the staff was amazing. Was in town for a sports tournament as was most of the hotel. The breakfast staff and housekeeping did an amazing job keeping up with the demand. It is close to the interstate so that is a concern but we left the ac fan on and bring a fan so no issue. Location is great - would stay here again

the management of this property is the worst. After I had already checked in my room, the room was canceled without contacting me. When I arrived, they said they don't understand why and that Marriott reservations did it. the hotel didn't offer to help find another hotel or anything. When I contacted reservations, the system showed that the hotel manager canceled the room. The hotel stated false information.

A friend and I wanted to meet in Birmingham for a relaxing visit in the Homewood area. I was initially disappointed to find that the 4 star hotel where I wanted to stay was booked, and I spent the next couple of hours investigating other hotels in the area. I am so glad I chose the Springhill Suites at the Colonnade! It was clean (highest on my list of expectations!) and modern. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the layout of the room and bathroom was very functional! Nice desk and sofa area for hanging out with a friend. Loved all the lamps throughout the space and extra lighting around the sink. Window overlooked the wooded area of the Colonnade. So many restaurants and places to shop at the Colonnade, the Summit, Homewood (18th Street!), and the Botanical Gardens are nearby! Checked in with a very nice young man they call Jay. We were only there one night, so we didn't have any interaction with the service staff (other than being grateful for the clean room!), and we didn't eat the breakfast, so I can't speak to either of those, but I was pleasantly pleased with the experience and will definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed for two nights. The first we had children in the room above jumping up and down past one in the morning. The phone in our room did not work so I walked to the desk where I was told they could do nothing about it. On the second night we had people sitting outside our room laughing and singing at past two am. The gentlemen on duty said they were not breaking any rules and I could find another hotel if it was bothering me. We were shocked and will never stay at this facility again,

The hotel sits in a nice walking distance to the stores and other entertainment. The lobby was beautifully design. 👏 👏 to the designer. The elevators were clean. Our rooms are updated and clean. Very nicely designed and simple. Sofa couch bed can sleep 2. Sleep one person top and pull out at bottom. Very nice comfort couch/sofa bed. We had enough washcloths and towels in room which was a plus. Most places I have travel to, thats 4+ ,are limited on face towels. We dont like reusing. I will say they did not have any available that evening ready but had some in the morning. Anyway, the facility amenities were great. The continental breakfast was good too. They had sThe person that maintain the area was great but after a certain time she off to housekeeping. I recommend having someone to clean the tables to prepare for more guests and the coffee ran out. This was my observance without knowing the time breakfast was over but I know it was before 10:50am. e best thing is checkout is 12pm. Overall, I liked the facility in spite of the reviews. The staff was nice.
